14-year-old girl killed in shooting, older brother critically injured

Detroit police are looking for those responsible for a double shooting overnight on the city's east side. One person was killed and another was critically injured.

A 14-year-old girl was killed in the shooting, and her older brother was also critically injured.

The shooting happened around 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 19000 block of Waltham Street, which is near Seven Mile and Schoenherr.

Witnesses told police someone in a silver or green Ford Windstar van pulled up and opened fire.

Family members rushed the siblings to the hospital. The 14-year-old girl had been shot in the chest, and we're told she was pronounced dead in the emergency room.

The 17-year-old brother is listed in critical condition.

Police have not yet given names of the victims, and don't yet have a description to give of the shooter.
