14-year-old shot walking home on Detroit's east side

DETROIT (FOX 2) - A teenager walking home was shot on Detroit's east side Friday afternoon.

At about 4:30 p.m. the teen was walking at Strasburg and Fairmount when he was shot in the back. The suspect was inside a truck that approached him from behind when a man got out and firing one shot.

After being wounded he ran to a relative's home where he was conveyed to the hospital. The 14-year-old is hospitalized in temporary serious condition. 

Detroit police have not released any further information about a suspect.
