15 days out, a White Christmas looks likely, maybe

We’re all dreaming of a White Christmas, but will we get it? Honestly… we just might.

Any respected meteorologist will take this time to tell you that a 15 day forecast is almost impossible to accurately predict. But you know what? Who cares! We’re looking at Christmas Day and everyone wants to talk snow! So let’s do it.

One weather model we look at every day is called the GFS model. It’s reliable and steady, especially in the short term. Well, December 25th started showing up on the back end of the run cycle and it is bringing snow to the Midwest!

The system shoots out of the Rockies on December 23rd and quickly heads in our direction, with snow falling after midnight on Christmas Eve. Wouldn’t that be perfect?!

Your follow up questions will be: how much snow?! What time?! Well, that’s getting ahead of ourselves. The only question right now is: will it even happen in the first place? It is a 15 day forecast after all.

But hey, we can keep dreaming.
