DETROIT - The man wanted as a person of interest in Monday's lockdown of the Coleman A. Young building has been identified.
Detroit police say that the man was contacted by police and met with detectives at his attorney's office.
"He provided a statement and was interviewed," said Sgt. Michael Woody, Detroit police. "At this time we are excluding this person from further investigation."
It started when a man was allowed through security at the Coleman A. Young building with a gun inside his bag.
The police are keeping their investigation open trying to learn who the was the gun owner who brought the weapon into the city county building.
Woody said, "for obvious reasons we are not releasing his identification."
