Mike Ilitch gifts $40M to Wayne State for new business school

Mike Ilitch's lasting legacy will be felt on the Wayne State campus with Wednesday's ground breaking.

Mike Ilitch added another jewel to his crown as Wayne State breaks ground on its new business school.

The Ilitch family gave the university $40 million for the project - the largest gift in school history.

Students, dignitaries, and the public showed up for the dedication of the Mike Ilitch school of business Wednesday afternoon.

This, when completed, will serve more than 3,000 undergrad and graduate students with a special emphasis on, entrepreneurship,  as well as sports and entertainment management.

With its prominent location along Woodward Avenue, innovative street-level businesses, and affiliated with Wayne State University, the new Mike Ilitch School of Business will likely attract many future entrepreneurs.
