Flint, Detroit Mayor's to speak at DNC Wednesday

Before President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden address the nation tonight at the Democratic National Convention,  a couple of Michigan's mayors will  be in the spotlight as well.

Flint Mayor Karen Weaver is in Philadelphia and ready to address the nation at the DNC Wednesday.

Weaver says she plans on using the time as a platform and a voice to talk about infrastructure needs - not only in Flint but across the nation.

Hillary Clinton visited Flint months ago and has promised to make it a priority, Weaver says it's needed in a
town where the residents still cannot drink unfiltered water. "If we don't address the issue of our failing infrastructure there will be other Flint's and we don't need that," said Weaver

It's an issue that hits home for Michigan Congressman Dan Kildee  and he's been in Philadelphia all week speaking out about Flint's water crisis.

Another city in the spotlight but for very different reasons is Detroit and its leader, Mayor Mike Duggan who will also speak.

Duggan says having Hillary Clinton in the Whitehouse would mean more jobs for the Motor City. "We need people right now who are not in good paying jobs to be able to have opportunities to get into those jobs making us competitive economically. I think that is the right track."
