7-year-old shot on Detroit's east side, police search for suspect

A 7-year-old was reportedly shot on Detroit's east side Tuesday night.

The boy is in stable condition at Children's Hospital of Detroit after being wounded during a domestic dispute, according to police.

Police are looking for the shooter who they have identified as Torrey Craft and have released a photo of him.

The child's mother and Craft were allegedly involved in an altercation Monday when Craft threatened to come back.

He returned tonight when he allegedly fired an assault weapon and hit the boy in the leg. It is unclear if Craft is the boy's father.

The incident happened at about 10:45 p.m. near the 3600 block of Fairview, near Mack and Southwestern High School.

Anyone with information about Craft's whereabouts, call Detroit police at (313) 596-1616 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
