OAK PARK, Mich. (WJBK) - Thieves go after drugs at a Royal Oak Walgreens, then led police on a chase that ended in an Oak Park neighborhood.
Two suspects are already in custody but investigators are searching for one more.
Royal Oak police confirmed that some sort of drug fraud happened at a Walgreen's on 12 Mile and Rochester roads early Wednesday afternoon.
Officers got the call, and when they arrived, police say three suspects in this black car drove away.
Other police departments in Oakland County pursued the three suspects until the chase ended at the intersection in Oak Park. Police caught two of the three suspects.
"I was actually preparing to paint and I heard a whole bunch of police cars," Danny Rogers said. "A whole bunch of sirens. When I looked outside, it was chaos, like 10 or 15 police vehicles.
"It was a lady and a man, they looked like they were in their 20s."
Now police are looking for the third suspect involved.
"It was just a whole bunch of sirens blaring," Rogers said. "When I looked out, I was like wow, it's a war zone for about two or three minutes. They got them. After that, they were looking with a canine. I suppose they were looking for something."
The afternoon was a bit scary for some of the people who live near the corner.
"It's disturbing," said Angel Smith. "(I'm a) new homeowner. I have young children. It's kind of scary, but what can you do, it's the world we live in."
"We've been here for five years," Rogers said. "(I've) never seen anything like that. It was a little bit of excitement this morning."
So far, police have not released more details about the drug incident or a description of the third suspect.
