DETROIT (WJBK) - Detroit police are investigating after a 16-year-old was killed in a drive-by shooting overnight.
Police say the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday on Roxbury Street at Casino Avenue by Carleton Elementary School, which is on the city's northeast side by Moross Road and Beaconsfield Street.
Police say two people pulled up in a dark-colored sedan while the suspect was on the corner and started shooting.
The teen was taken by some family members to St. John's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His family tells us his name was Terrell Coleman, and that he was with a couple of his brothers at the time of the shooting.
Police are still searching the area for the suspects, and we're told they're going around knocking on doors.
Police aren't sure of the car's make or model at this time, nor do they have a description of the suspects.
