Police arrested a man they say had his daughter in the family minivan with him along with heroin and several needles.
Police from the Special Enforcement Section, Secure Cities Partnership Inkster spotted a man in a minivan on Carlysle Avenue they say was looking down and stirring some kind of liquid on the bottom of a can.
When troopers approached, they said the 28-year-old Romulus man jumped out of the car and grabbed his daughter - a 5-year-old girl.
Troopers stopped him said they spotted several open needles and a pop can with a rock/liquid type substance on the bottom of the can on the floor of the van.
Police arrested him on possession of heroin and child endangerment. He was taken to Dearborn Heights Police Department without incident.
His name has not been released.
