(WJBK) - Complete with sashes, Kyle Manikas and Derek Ledwidge are Mr. August and Mr. March respectively in the new 2019 Men Of Macomb Charity Calendar.
"It brings more awareness to children - a lot of these agencies or organizations that they were going for are children focused, so I think that's very important," said Manikas.
Kyle was trying to get the most likes on social media to win the competition and land the cover of this calendar and send proceeds to his favority charity, the Michigan Youth Opportunity Initiative. He didn't get the cover, he came in second, but he and his charity are getting attention.
"I thoroughly enjoyed modeling. Smoldering was the statement of the photo shoot, so it was always give smoldering so I did a lot of trying to figure out what smoldering was, 100 percent, but I think I captured it pretty well," he said.
The guys had a good time all for a great cause -- 20 percent of proceeds from this $20 calendar will go to the winner's charity, Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation.
"Our goal is to sell at least 2,500 calendars, which would get him $10,000 to his charity so that's our hope," said Lara Shovlin with helpinghandsgifts.com.
The rest will go to Shovlin's non-profit, Helping Hands Gifts. They connect other charities with resources and donations, and organized this fundraiser.
"It's so important to give to these organizations because they're all doing great work," she said.
That's is the goal with this calendar, which is for sale at all three Headquarters haircuts for men locations. They sponsored the project and helped get the guys ready for their photo shoot.
"We say our mission is to raise the standard. It's not just about haircuts. We want to reach out the community, we want to help," said Collin McRae.
And these top models do, too,
"All the other charities that were involved. I mean that's the biggest thing is awareness and just seeing the name out there so it's really, really good," Ledwidge said.
