DETROIT (WJBK) - For the first time, the number of Millennials eligible to vote in the presidential election will be nearly equal to the number of Baby Boomers, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data.
So, city leaders are making sure the young voters are able to get out to the polls in November.
The Rev. Jesse Jackson came to Detroit and spoke at Cass Tech High School to encourage students old enough to register to vote.
At least a dozen students eligible lined up on stage signed up there right on the spot.
The last day for everyone over the age of 18 to register to vote is Oct. 11. You can get a step-by-step guide of how to register online here at www.michigan.gov.
