- The Detroit Lions and Uber are offering a special pickup and drop-off point near Ford Field for those using the ride-hailing service for the team's home games.

The exclusive pickup and drop-off point will be along the northbound E Fisher Service Drive, between Woodward and John R.

The Lions say fans using Uber on gamedays also will be eligible for special Lions' giveaways. And a promotion code is being offered for first-time users.

The code is LIONSDET and is valid for one free ride up to $20.

"Uber is teaming up with the Lions to make sure a trip to and from Ford Field is hassle free," Uber Michigan General Manager Sagar Shah said in a news release. "Lions fans can skip the parking lot-just open the Uber app, push a button, and get a ride."

You can also still get tickets there for this weekend's season home opener against the Tennessee Titans. The game is Sunday and is also the official debut of the new Lions Cheerleaders -- the first team in more than 40 years.
