CANTON, Mich. (WJBK) - A woman riding her bicycle was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Canton she claims tried to run her off the road.
"It scared the life out of me," said Leigh Young.
Young, 32, was barely able to walk, wincing in pain in her driveway Friday. She can't help but think of what could have happened after she says someone purposely hit her while riding her bike.
"It took me about two days to process. Did someone really just hit me with a car?" Young said.
Young says Sunday morning she was proudly riding her brand new bike to grab a coffee and stop at the grocery store. It was near Lilley and Cherry Hill roads when she approached a crosswalk.
"As the light is getting ready to turn, this silver car pulled up. Blocked the crosswalk, so that he was literally right about to make his right-hand turn," she said.
Young admits she wasn't happy with the way the car had blocked her.
"I looked towards the passenger window and I was like, wow really, then I went around his car guy, got in front of his car," she said.
While looking back, that's when Young says that driver hit the gas, slamming into her.
Young says it happened so fast she didn't get a good chance to see the car, but she thinks it was silver sedan, possibly with tinted windows.
Canton police tell FOX 2 several witnesses have given conflicting stories and are unable to look at any surveillance video yet.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
