FERNDALE, Mich. (WJBK) - Russell Simmons will be in Ferndale on Monday as part of a special effort to help those affected by the Flint water crisis.
The music mogul, author and philantrhopist will help raise money for Flint Community Grocery.
It's an initiative to open grocery stores in Flint that provide access to quality, wholesome foods to residents affected by the water crisis.
We sat down with Simmons and he explained why this project is important to him.
The fundraiser will take place between 5 and 7 p.m. Monday at the Green Space Cafe.
