Police: 2 Livonia hotels robbed by man in clown, pumpkin masks

- Police in Livonia are looking for a suspect who they say fired shots at officers after robbing two hotels in the area.

Police say the first robbery happened at the Embassy Suites on Victor Parkway in Livonia near Seven Mile Road and Interstate 275. The suspect was wearing a clown mask and stole items from a clerk and some patrons.

The second robbery happened at the Days Inn on Plymouth. Police say this time the suspect was wearing a pumpkin mask and was unsuccessful in his robbery attempt.

Police were able to locate the suspect in a blue Chevy Impala and began to pursue him. That's when we're told the suspect fired shots at some officers.

No injuries were reported but the officers lost track of the vehicle.

Police describe the suspect as a black man who was wearing a black hoodie and gray sweatpants at the time of both robberies.

Authorities are also investigation a connection between the hotel robberies to the clown-masked robberies yesterday in Brownstown Charter Township and Ann Arbor.
