Michigan State Police have issued an AMBER Alert for a 3-year-old boy who went missing from his home in Detroit overnight.

Marvie Gardner was last seen around 12:30 a.m. at his home in the 19000 block of Winston, which is near Seven Mile Road and Grand River Avenue.

Police believe the boy is with a 19-year-old man named Michael Grayson, and that they were traveling in a purple Plymouth Voyager minivan with the license plate CMB 3125.

Police say the suspect's stolen vehicle was found abandoned on Detroit's west side around 1 p.m. Thursday. The car was found in the 19000 block of Riverview, which is about six blocks away from Marvie's house.

Police say the boy's mother, Latoya Spears, invited some friends over, which included Gardner and his girlfriend. While they were hanging out, Gardner and his girlfriend began to argue prompting the girlfriend to leave with their child, which upset Gardner.

Spears was able to calm Gardner down and said he could stay the night, but when she woke up around 5:30 a.m. she says her son was gone and she found a note that said, "I want my child and will call back with instructions."

"Mike, if you're watching - man, please just bring me my baby. I won't press no charges; just bring me my baby. I want my baby," Spears pleaded on TV.

Marvie is about 2 feet tall and weighs about 30 lbs. He has short braids in his hair, and was wearing an orange and gray short sleeved shirt and pull ups when he went missing.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to please call 911 immediately or Detroit Police at 313-596-5640.
