DEARBORN, Mich. (WJBK) - Police say a man who crashed into several cars in a Dearborn neighborhood was shot and killed Sunday night.
According to Dearborn police, they were called to the area of Madison and Bennett around 10:00 pm on Sunday after neighbors said a car had crashed into multiple cars in the quiet neighborhood. The man behind the wheel was identified as 33-year-old Raymond Mshahwar.
One of the neighbors was Ron Micallef. His family heard the crash as the car hit their family car. He said that accidents aren't anything new on the street, but nothing of this nature.
"It's a busy street so we hear accidents so it's not entirely uncommon but the circumstances around this one were definitely unusual," Micallef said. "We ran out and found a driver unresponsive we didn't know what was wrong with him."
Other neighbors also heard the crash and rushed to help. They called police and gave CPR to the driver who was slumped over the wheel. As police responded to the report of the crash, neighbors didn't even realize that the man had been shot.
Micallef said they had originally thought that the Canton man may have had a medical condition.
"We didn't see any injuries to him so we weren't aware of the gun shot until later."
On Thursday, Crimestoppers announced a $2,500 reward for a tip that leads to an arrest in the murder mystery. Anyone with information is asked to call call the Dearborn Police Tip Line at 313-943-3030 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP.
