DETROIT (WJBK) - An SUV crossed the center line and slammed into another vehicle Monday afternoon on Detroit's east side.
The impact injured four people, including a 2-year-old girl at Conner and Kenmoor at 5:30 p.m. across from Detroit City Airport.
Police say the driver of a blue SUV crossed the center line and collided head-on with this silver Buick. Three adults in the Buick are in stable condition, but the little girl remains in serious condition at this time.
Neighbors who heard the crash say Conner is a dangerous street.
"It's been like this ever since I moved here 12 years ago," said resident Andrew Giles. "They need to put a traffic light. The cars go fast, yes")
The speed limit is 35 miles an hour, but cars routinely are said to be going a lot faster.
But some say Conner is dangerous for another reason - Ada Phillips says Conner has been more dangerous since the addition of a bike trail leading to about five fatalities.
Police are not releasing further details of the accident, including why the Buick had a Tennessee license plate, and whether potential charges are forthcoming.
