Ivanka Trump campaigns for father in Troy

- Ivanka Trump, the daughter of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump campaigned for him in Troy Wednesday.

Ivanka Trump posed for pictures in the Troy Marriott Grand Ballroom. The fire code maxed out at a crowd of 800 people to hear Donald Trump's 35-year-old daughter, the mother of three small children, speak.  She said her dad is passionate about leading.

"It's an amazing thing you see that passion you see it in his energy," she said. "You know that he's talking to tens of thousands of Americans every day. He'll hold three, four, five rallies in different cities each day. It's unbelievable."

One of the things that really moved the applause meter-- Ivanka Trump said as she campaigns for her father --a request to lower taxes for small businesses is what she frequently hears.

"So comprehensive tax reform is critical," she said. "Dramatically decreasing taxes on business is so important, especially for small businesses who are so thin already."

Now Donald Trump has been running behind by double digits in the polling of women voters but Hillary Clinton's lead among women has recently decreased to single digits.

"And the reality is we've had enough of her," said business owner Linda Lee Tarver. "We had enough of the attacks she has no solutions for us and particularly as an African-American woman. Abortion is the No.1 killer of black babies in our state."

Just prior to Ivanka's remarks a VIP roundtable of 20 women, all small business owners from across Metro Detroit met with Ivanka Trump to identify the issues important to them in this election.

"Repealing Obama Care which he was talking about yesterday and today," said Irene McDonald.

"Well I'm a woman and I'm going to vote for him," said Melanie Olson. "And I'm with a friend who came here and she will vote too."

A recent FOX 2 Mitchell Poll showed Clinton's lead slipping over Trump to just 3 percent in Michigan.
