MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WJBK) - Police in Madison Heights believe a drunken driver caused a fiery crash on a residential street Monday night.
Police say the driver of a Ford Mustang crashed into a home around 10:45 p.m. in the 27,000 block of Barrington Street, which is off 11 Mile Road near Stephenson Highway. Both the car and the house caught fire.
Someone who saw the crash came over to help, and was able to pull out the driver before the fire got too bad. The driver, who we're told is a man in his 30s, was taken the hospital.
One person was inside the house at the time of the crash and was not hurt.
Madison Heights police believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
