(WJBK) - The Wayne County Lightfest kicks off on Thursday, November 17.
Lightfest features more than 47 giant animated displays and more than one million lights. It's the Midwest's largest and longest light show -- clocking in at more than four miles.
The Lightfest Opening party is at 6 p.m. on Hines Drive in Westland at the Merriman Hollow Area. The Lightfest Opening will feature music, entertainment, fireworks and light refreshments will be served.
Lightfest is open Monday - Thursday; 7-10 p.m., Friday - Sunday; 6-10p.m. through December 31. However, Lighfest is closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25.
Visitors enter Lightfest at Hines Drive and Merriman Road in Westland and exit onto Warren Avenue near Telegraph Road in Dearborn Heights. There is a $5 fee per vehicle. Hines Drive closes to traffic at 6 p.m. Monday - Thursday and at 5 p.m. Friday - Sunday
