DETROIT (WJBK) - Police are investigating after a 52-year-old man was found shot to death in Detroit last week. The suspect is on the loose, the motive is still unknown and authorities are helping you can help them crack the case.
“Approximately 5:30 p.m. our victim, Emery Curtis, was last seen at his home around that time. Just a short hour and five minutes later, he was discovered in an area, shot one time and deceased,” said Sergeant Michael Woody of the Detroit Police Department.
The man had been at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting earlier in the day, and was shot after he came home.
“It’s that short window of about an hour and five minutes later that he was found over at Pennington and Thatcher where he was fatally shot one time,” said Sgt. Woody.
And police only have this description of the victim's clothing:
“He was found wearing his pajama bottoms. So, it’s indicative of the fact that he may have been home for the evening, but something, somewhere pulled him out of the house.”
The victim’s car, a 2002 White Buick LeSabre, was found the next day a short distance away from the victim, but he was not shot in his car.
“We believe he was possibly shot in another vehicle and possibly dumped at that location.”
