TROY, Mich. (WJBK) - A 22-year-old man was killed in a crash with a party bus on I-75 south of Adams early Sunday morning.
Troy police say around 3 a.m. the bus carrying 24 people was stopped on the shoulder with a mechanical issue.
A 2003 yellow Pontiac Sunfire traveling on the shoulder struck the bus.
The car's passenger was killed in the impact and pronounced dead on scene, while the driver was taken to Royal Oak Beaumont by Alliance Mobile Health with serious injuries.
Eight of the 24 occupants in the party bus were taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Pontiac with minor injuries.
Two lanes of I-75 were closed for about 3 1/2 hours as police investigated.
They determined drugs and/or alcohol may have been a factor.
