DETROIT (WJBK) - An off-duty Detroit police officer was shot at Sunday after a man grew upset the officer allegedly spoke to his sister.
The off-duty officer entered a party store at the intersection of Dexter and Davison around 6 p.m., where he spoke with a woman inside the store.
He left the store in his pick-up truck and stopped a few blocks away to use his phone.
The male suspect approached the officer’s driver-side door, apparently upset the officer was talking to his sister inside the party store.
The suspect then pulled out a gun and fired several shots, but the officer drive away unharmed.
His vehicle was damaged and the suspect fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a black male between 18 and 25 years old.
His sister is in custody as a person of interest.
