Police say a man kidnapped yesterday has been found dead on Detroit's northeast side Thursday.

Police say a man kidnapped yesterday has been found dead on Detroit's northeast side Thursday.

The 34-year-old male victim was found dead inside a van in the 17000 block of Marx Street today, near McNichols and I-75. A suspect was arrested after neighbors in the area tipped off police that he was still in the area.

A 34-year-old suspect inside a house near to the van, has been arrested.

Police said the victim appeared to have been shot, and said they are not ruling out the possibility there are other suspects.

The victim had been reported kidnapped at 7 pm Wednesday night from outside Von's Market on Greenfield. Police had been notified the person was missing this morning and started searching.

While the deceased had no ID police believe the kidnapped man is the shooting victim.

Detroit police received reports of a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood today when it found the van and missing man inside.

"We got a call earlier this morning to the 14000 block of Greenfield on a possible kidnapping," said Detroit police Cmdr. Marlon Wilson. "We had officers go out to the scene they did observe some significant amount of blood at the scene we called our violent crime task force which led them to the 17000 block of Marx Street. Subsequently we did make one arrest of the suspect and we were able to locate a body inside a blue van."

Police work to determine the owner of the van and while the male victim died of a gunshot wound, police have not recovered a gun.
