HARRISON CHARTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) - Three cars were involved in a deadly accident when a driver crossed the center lane, attempting to pass another car in Harrison Township, police say.
The accident happened at 2:45 a.m. Monday on River Road between Irwin Drive and Bridgeview Street, which is near the Selfridge Air Force Base.
We're told the driver of a BMW crossed over the center line and hit a 2010 Malibu. The driver of the BMW, an 18-year-old man from Chesterfield Township was killed, and one person in the Malibu was injured.
A third vehicle was also involved in the crash, a 2004 Saab. That driver was not injured.
Police say it's too soon right now to tell if alcohol was a factor in the crash. The victim's name has not yet been given.
N River Road was closed overnight as authorities investigated.
