The Michigan Humane Society and Crimestoppers is offering a $2,500 to arrest the person responsible for mutilating and abusing a cat in Redford.

Stanley has been through a lot, to say the least. He was brought in on Thursday with both ears and his tail cut. Anna Chrisman with the Michigan Humane Society says this was no accident.

"Stanley was turned in by a concerned citizens from the city of Redford and realized he was desperate need of help," she said. "Whatever had happened to him was done on purpose so step one was to get him seen."

He has bruising and other signs of abuse on his body but Anna says he's doing remarkably well. With the help of Crimestoppers, they've put up a $2,500 reward to find whoever did this.

"No matter how many times you see an animal abused it's a different life and it's always hard," Anna said.

Cruelty investigators are searching the area where he was found in Redford near the area of I-96 and Telegraph but beyond that, they don't have much to go on.

"If someone recognizes him we would really appreciate that tip."

Stanley will be in care of MHS veterinarians until he can eventually be adopted out. Anna says it's amazing how friendly he is given what he's gone through.
