3 charged after 55-year-old man found dying in field in Macomb

Three people have been charged in connection with the death of a 55-year-old man in Macomb County in October.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office says they received a call on October 5 about a man lying in a field near the caller's home. Deputies came to the field, which was near Oliver Street in Macomb, and found a man visibly injured and unable to speak.

He was rushed to the hospital. Deputies say his injuries did not appear self-inflicted.

The man died later that month on October 25 at the hospital. He has been identified as Jack Kitchen of Macomb Township.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office says they received a tip that several people were responsible for the assault to Kitchen. They say they interviewed the suspects and several search warrants were issued.

Nicholas Riddle, 38, and Jamel Bentley, 29, both of Macomb Township have been charged with second-degree murder. Teri Beals, 17, of Macomb Township has also been charged with a felony count of lying to a peace officer.

Macomb County Sheriff's Office haven't yet given any other information about what happened to Kitchen.
