Three men have been charged with murder after the death of a 14-year-old girl on Detroit's east side earlier this month. The girl's older brother was also critically injured in the shooting.

Jamesha and Jeff McWilliams were both hit when somebody sprayed bullets into their home in the 19000 block of Waltham Street, which is near Seven Mile and Schoenherr, on August 4.

The family quickly took the siblings to the hospital. Jamesha had been shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Jeff survived and is recovering, but his exact condition isn't known right now.

Robert Moore, 19; Dwayne Sharpe, 24; and Anthony Rodgers, 19, are all facing first-degree murder charges, in addition to a number of other weapons charges.

Jamesha attended East English Village Prep Academy, and we're told she was excited for a new school year and that she would have joined the cheer squad.

Police haven't yet given a motive for the shooting. Other people were inside the home, too, at the time of the shooting.

It's not known yet when the three suspects are due back in court.
