Three women killed early Thursday morning - instantly in a horrific crash.

The car they were in wrapped around a utility pole at Telegraph and West Chicago in Redford at 2 a.m. Thursday.

"Three lives gone, just like that," said Gregory Morgan, who lives in the area.

"There's nothing left of the car and the pole is standing still - not even a dent in it," said Pat Wall, who lives nearby. " just feel sorry for the families. My prayers go out to them."

"I've been working fatal accidents for 11 years and this is one of the worst I've seen," said Sgt. Duane Gregg.

Police say the 2008 Kia Optima was speeding down Telegraph with the driver possibly going as fast as 100 miles an hour.

She and her female passenger were ejected. The third victim - also a female - was trapped in the back seat.

Two of the victims are from the Muskegon area but investigators are still trying to figure out who the third victim is.  They are also testing for alcohol and drugs and trying to figure out what the women were doing in the Detroit area.

"Obviously no seat belts or a seat belt failure, one of the two," Gregg said. "But at that rate of speed, there is not a lot a that's going to make a difference."

It doesn't appear any other cars were involved in the crash.

"There was a witness who stated the driver passed him at a very high rate of speed," Gregg said. "He was driving a semi, we had asked him to pull over while we were securing the scene, but he didn't stop."

Now police are desperate to talk to anyone who may have witnessed this crash Thursday morning. Contact Redford Township police (313) 387-2500 if you were a witness or have any information about the victims in the crash.
