DETROIT - The man wanted in a stabbing attack of two EMTs has been arrested.
Detroit police say the suspect, Michael Montgomery, was spotted and arrested at Whitcomb and Fenkell Tuesday night.
Montgomery, 30, was walking with his girlfriend when he was picked up. He has two warrants for murder and rape from a 2006 cold case. Police say the girlfriend was present at the time of the attack in the early morning hours Tuesday.
Montgomery was arrested by Detroit police's Violent Crimes Task Force.
Kelly Adams, 13 years a Detroit EMT had her face allegedly slashed by Montgomery with a box cutter. Her partner, Alfredo Rojas, two years on the job, was stabbed in his right hand and slashed just below the right eye.
The two EMTs were helping a woman, who called about her sore ankle in the 3400 block of Third Street around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
They were both seriously injured but were able to drive themselves to Detroit Receiving Hospital. They are both expected to recover.
