Police: Teen killed in accident caused by man speeding in stolen car

- Authorities are investigating an accident that killed a teenager Wednesday morning on Detroit's west side.

Detroit police tell us a man was speeding in a stolen Jeep Liberty when he crossed the center lane and hit an oncoming car. A 16-year-old was riding in that car and was killed in the crash. The driver, who we're told is a man in his 40s, was hurt. The extent of the driver's injuries is not known at this time.

Police say the suspect was able to run away from the scene. Police are looking for him. We have not received a description yet, but will update the story when we do.

The accident happened on Greenfield Road between Curtis and Outer Drive.
