37-year-old man killed after multiple cars hit him on Schoenherr

- A 37-year-old man was killed Thursday morning after he was hit by multiple cars while trying to cross a busy road in Warren, the police department confirms to FOX 2. Police say the man was attempting to cross Schoenherr Road near 9 Mile and Toepfer around 7 a.m.

Police say the driver of the Kia Sportage did stop and is cooperating with police, but detectives say other drivers were involved, too.

A Good Samaritan stopped to direct traffic after the man was first hit. Detectives say, though, that two cars drove around the Good Samaritan's stopped truck and ran over the man again. The first car, a PT Cruiser, stopped in the roadway but was then rear ended by the second car that had also just hit the body, a Grand Prix.

We're told both cars then stopped and that the driver of the PT Cruiser got out and started yelling at the driver of the Grand Prix. The driver of the PT Cruiser then got back in her car and drove away.

Detectives describe her as a black female in her late 30s. She had her hair in a pony tail, and is between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall. Her PT Cruiser is red or burgundy in color and will have damage to the rear end.

The driver of the Grand Prix stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. He told detectives he did not see the body in the road because his attention was drawn to the Good Samaritan directing traffic.

Sources tell us the man who was hit was not using a crosswalk and that he was wearing dark clothing at the time. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
