4 charged with running prostitution house at spa in Harrison Twp.

Four women have been charged with maintaining a house of prostitution at a spa in Harrison Township.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office received an anonymous tip in November that the massage parlor Sun Chinese Spa was offering sex acts to male clients. Detectives investigated and learned the business had been advertising for customers on a well-known computer website. Officials did not name the website.

Last week, detectives searched the spa and arrested five female employees. One employee was released after detectives learned she had just arrived in Michigan that very day, but the other four women have been charged with identical crimes:

Count #1: Use of a Computer to Commit Crime
Count #2: Maintaining a House of Prostitution
Count #3: Accosting & Soliciting

They are Meijuan Yu, 49; Suhua Mei, 44; Hongmei Qu, 26; and Xiaoying Yu, 51. All live in Harrison Township, although authorities say at least one of the women is in the U.S. illegally. The immigration status of the other women is unknown at this time.

They were each given $20,000 cash-or-surety bonds and they remain in the Macomb County Jail. They are due back in court later this month.

Sun Chinese Spa is located in the 36000 block of Jefferson.
