4 hurt in shooting outside Muskegon Heights high school

Michigan State Police are investigating after an armed suspect was shot by a deputy near a school in western Michigan. Three others were also injured in separate shootings that took place in the same area.

It happened Tuesday night after a basketball game at Muskegon Heights High School. No one was seriously hurt.

Officers were already stationed in the school's parking lot. They were alerted that a fight in Grand Rapids last week might rollover to Muskegon Heights.

Investigators say the suspect was shot by a deputy after he ran toward the school with a weapon and  refused to drop it.

The school is approximately 40 miles northwest of Grand Rapids.
