A 4-year-old child was shot in southwest Detroit Friday around 8:20 p.m. after gun fire broke out.

The child was shot in the shoulder.

Based on their preliminary investigation, police say bullets started flying between two vehicles in the 5800 block of Ogden.

Detectives are now looking for two vehicles.

Surveillance video in the neighborhood depicts at least one of the cars they are in search of, which is a black four-door sedan, which could be a Cadillac, police say.

The other vehicle is a silver SUV, which police believe is a newer model.

Police detectives executed a search warrant on scene.

Detroit Police Captain Darin Szilagy says he saw the 4-year-old and believes that she will pull through.

"I was there and I saw the child. She's in stable condition, it's a through and through gunshot wound, so she's going to recover. I'm pretty confident of it," said Szilagy.
