CMU student from Macomb County killed in hit-and-run

A Central Michigan University student from Macomb was killed overnight when he was hit by a car in an apparent hit-and-run accident. 

Michigan State Police say the incident happened shortly after midnight Saturday on Crawford Road between Billabrail Street and Concourse Street.

Police say the preliminary investigation has found that an unknown vehicle struck and killed the 18-year-old CMU student as he walked northbound toward campus.

The student, who is from Macomb was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is not being made available at this time. 

At the time of the crash, he was walking with friends who described the vehicle as a dark colored older four door vehicle. The vehicle should display damage to the front passenger side.
