FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (WJBK) - Two Michigan State Police troopers are recovering after their patrol unit was struck by a suspected drunk driver over the weekend.
The troopers had a car pulled over early Sunday morning on the shoulder of westbuond Interstate-696 near Orchard Lake Road in Farmington Hills. That's when the driver of a 2009 Jaguar drifted out of the lanes and hit the rear of the patrol car.
The officers were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. They have since been released.
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old driver was arrested for driving under the influence and spent the night in jail.
