Detroit police investigate two shootings just blocks away from each other

Police are investigating after two shootings happened near each other on Detroit's east side Wednesday morning. 
 
One of the shootings happened at Mack Avenue and Alter Road and the other one happened at Mack Avenue and Lenox Street, which is less than 10 blocks away. 
 
Police are working to determine if the shootings are connected. 
 
We know at least one person has been shot, although the extent of injury is unknown at this time.
