7 kids, 2 adults injured in crash on Detroit's west side

- Several people were injured Wednesday morning in a crash on Detroit's west side, including multiple children.

We're told seven children and two adults have been taken to the hospital following the crash, which happened at Schaefer Highway and Pembroke Avenue a few blocks south of Eight Mile Road. 

We're told the accident happened when the driver in a Saturn ran a red light at Pembroke and hit a Ford Explorer.

Six kids and one adult were traveling in the Saturn. We're told they were headed to school. 

One adult and one child were in the Ford explorer. 

We're told one child is listed in serious condition while undergoing testing. Conditions of the others weren't detailed. 

The kids range in ages from 6 to 12.
