INKSTER, Mich. - A young man was shot and killed inside an Inkster home.
He was sitting in the living room when someone sprayed the house with bullets at about 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Michigan State Police were called to the 26000 block of Yale Street where the shooting took place.
Police say the victim, identified as 21-year-old Joel Rustin of Inkster, was sitting in the living room of the house when a number of gunshots were fired through the window hit him.
"I was sitting in the driveway and all the sudden flashing lights and police cars down there on Yale," said neighbor Luther Snow.
"All I heard was gunshots that was coming from down at house and I saw police bring somebody out and put them in an ambulance," said a neighbor who did not want to be identified.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A resident says that Rustin has not been living in the house very long.
"They seem like nice, quiet people and seemed to (keep to themself) over there," the neighbor said, describing the neighborhood as usually quiet.
