Undercover FBI task force officer shot outside Southfield Marriott

One agent is wounded in a sting of sex traffickers Friday in Southfield.

An FBI task force officer has been shot in outside a Southfield hotel.

It is believed that the task force agent was hit in his vest but returned fire and hit the shooter, reports FOX 2's Hannah Saunders. 

The agent is expected to recover, it is unclear what the suspect's condition is.

The incident happened in the southwest corner of the parking lot of the Detroit Marriott Southfield, 27033 Northwestern Hwy.

It is uncertain what law enforcement agency the task force member was working as part of, or what the circumstances were.

The task force was made up of different police agencies including the FBI.
