Livonia mayor, police honor 8-year-old with Good Citizenship Award

- A little boy from Livonia, Mich. proves honesty is the best policy.

Eight-year-old Anthony Wright was given the Good Citizenship Award from Livonia Mayor Dennis Wright and the police department Wednesday night.

Anthony was out shopping with his mom last weekend when he saw money blowing around in the parking lot of the PetSmart on Middlebelt. When he collected all the cash, it came to a total of $770.

He and his mom waited around to see if anyone lost it. When no one came to claim the cash, they took it to the Livonia Police Department.

The women who lost the cash were thrilled and grateful that someone was honest enough to return it.

"We wanted them to stop by our office where we work but then we decided to do this because it's more formal and we're excited to meet him," Lama and Rama Kharboutli say.

The women say they actually lost a thousand dollars and think the other $230 is still blowing around in the wind.
