Second woman accuses Ypsilanti nursing home rape suspect of assault

A second woman has come forward accusing a rape suspect of attacking her.

A man is charged with raping a woman in an Ypsilanti senior center.

He may have struck before as another woman says that she too, was his victim.

"Sometimes it makes me so mad," she said. "I feel like I’m going to spontaneously combust."

"It wasn't his first rape" is a claim made by a woman who says her own cousin is the suspect and she herself is a victim to an attack by him back in October.

FOX 2 first introduced you to Joshua Oday when he was arrested last week, accused of holding a knife to his victim's back at a bus stop and forcing her into a nursing home. He then allegedly raped her in an elevator.

The story of his arrest and his mug shot on TV prompted a call from another woman who wants to be anonymous. She says she grew up in the foster system with him and considers him a cousin even though they are related by blood.

She says the man she knew growing up is much different than the person she knows today.

She talked about the night he allegedly raped her as they watched TV at her home.

"His whole demeanor changed," she said. "It seemed as if you were looking into two black holes in his eyes."

The anonymous victim says she filed a police report initially, but wasn't sure if she wanted to press charges.

After seeing the report of his alleged attack at a nursing home however, she now wishes she could have done more and encourages others in her position to speak out.

"My advice is to speak up," she said. "If we don't, we will be in hiding forever."

Oday is being held at the Washtenaw County Jail on a criminal sexual conduct charge. Now with this new information it's possible more charges may follow.
