Flint water crisis hearing will be Feb. 3 in Washington DC

It has been announced that Washington DC will hold a federal hearing on the Flint water crisis on Feb 3.

Five witnesses will be convened before Congress in at the Rayburn House Office Building starting at 9:30 a.m.

Gov. Rick Snyder will not be among the witnesses called, according to the release.

Those who are listed are:

Darnell Early, former emergency manager for Flint.

Joel Beauvais, acting deputy assistant administrator, office of water.

Miguel Del Toral, researcher Region 5 Water Division.

Keith Creagh, director, Department of Environmental Quality state of Michigan.

Marc Edwards, professor of Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

See the official memorandum below.

In other developments involving the Flint water crisis, Gov. Rick Snyder signed a $28 million spending bill to pay for bottled water, filters, testing kits, more school nurses, medical treatment and unpaid water bills.

This comes, as we learn people who live beyond the Flint city limits may also be at risk. The city released a list of addresses  outside of Flint -- that may be connected to the Flint water system.

Several of those addresses are in Burton, about 10 miles southeast of Flint. The city of Flint is telling the people who live there to have their water tested with those free home testing kits and use bottled water and water filters until further notice.
