A woman was been hit and killed by a car on Venoy Road in Westland Friday night.
Neighbors say it is the second time in the last month someone was hit crossing the street. They say the problem is not enough street lights.
"It was my sister in law, she lives with me," said Milton Jamison. "I don't know what to do, my wife is hysterical right now."
"It was a delivery person," said Shaquanda Thurman. "She was probably trying to call her next delivery and hit the girl. Now she's dead. This is ridiculous, something needs to be done.
"I'll be damned if I walk across this street and end up dead with somebody telling me it's my fault because of a lack of lights."
Venoy is closed in both directions between Grand Traverse and Palmer for the investigation.
