Detroit man faces murder charges for shooting in Taylor

Murder charges were filed against a Detroit man who is accused of shooting a man in Taylor.

- A 26-year-old Detroit resident faces murder charges for shooting a 23-year-old man in Taylor over the weekend.

Joseph Watson is accused of killing Jose Luis Zambrano around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday on Wellington Street.

Witnesses said Zambrano went to Watson's home with his 3-year-old son and while Zambrano was hugging his friend's mom, Watson began shooting. The child was not harmed but Zambrano was shot in the face and chest. Another man was shot in the arm.

Zambrano did not survive the incident. The motive is still unknown.

The judge denied release on bond. If convicted, Watson could face life in prison.
