Adient to go public, bring more jobs to Plymouth campus

Adient makes millions of seats for cars and trucks all over the world, but its roots are right here in Plymouth, Mich.

Byron Foster with Adient tells us they have about 1,200 employees at the technical center and will be bringing on about 100 more employees during an exciting time for the company - they're going public.

Adient will begin operating as an independent company and trade on the NYSE under the symbol "ADNT" on Oct. 31, when the spin-off from Johnson Controls is completed.

"I'm a Detroit native, so, for me, to see this opportunity come to fruition in my hometown in my home state, and to just see the bright future that we have ahead of us to continue to serve the global market, it's just a great time in our company," McDonald says.
