Antoine Orr, Chico Bruce and Jordan Reese were accused of attacking a woman and her boyfriend last month on city's west side along McNichols.

But Tuesday  the victims failed to show up to testify and that meant that prosecutors could not proceed.

While those men were locked up it happened again. Another attack following the same m.o.

A young woman raped, while her boyfriend was beaten, robbed and forced to watch, shortly after midnight Tuesday.

The suspects were described as two black males in their late teens or early 20s.

Her father knew something was wrong when he got the phone call early this morning and was shaken  when he saw her after it happened.

"She was crying on my shoulder when I saw her," said John Banks. "There was nothing I could do."

It happened Tuesday morning while the teen was walking with her boyfriend. two men held them at gunpoint forced them into this vacant house and violated the teenage girl making her boyfriend watch.

Banks is still coming to terms with the horror that befell his 17-year-old daughter - and still lamenting the fact he could not help her.

"He took her innocence," he said. "(He) forced her to do something she didn't want to do. So I hope somebody do the same to them."

"She doesn't want to go home. She was walking down her street and she got snatched up in an abandoned house on her own block?"

Banks went to the house where the attack happened. Searching for clues, anything that could reveal the identities of his daughter's attackers. Right now they are at large and police do not have detailed descriptions of them.

"You really can't walk the city of detroit no more, it's scary now," said a neighbor.

People who live nearby were unnerved to learn the two teens living nightmare happened in their neighborhood.

The rapists had the same m.o. as those behind the brutal attacks on three couples earlier this summer  along McNichols. The women were raped, the men robbed and forced to watch.

Detroit police sources say investigators are not sure if the crimes are connected  but they are looking into it.

In the meantime this Detroit dad hopes justice comes quickly and no one else will experience what his daughter has.

"I perceive people believe they can get away with whatever they want," Banks said. "So as long as we as a community just lay down and let this stuff happen, it's going to continue to happen.

"You hear something or think you see something, you come out. That could be your child your neice, nephew or anybody. Do something don't just let it happen."

He also says more needs to be done to secure abandoned houses in Detroit
